A vintage silver coloured metal (probably nickel silver as it certainly behaves like nickel silver) ethnic tribal anklet or ankle bangle with applied motifs in places.
The construction of the anklet is tubular, rather than solid. There is very little “give” in the anklet, since it would be fitted on a young person, and it is probably more use as a chunky wrist bangle on a rather small wrist. The silver coloured metal has been cleaned but might benefit from further, more expert, cleaning. The anklet is fixed by means of a metal pin (see photographs) and is structurally sound.
The anklet measures approximately 4in in diameter at the outer edge (excluding the applied motifs) and the inner diameter is just over 2in. The depth of the bangle is about 1.125in. Exact age and country unknown but the anklet is believed to date from the first part of last century, and possibly to be African in origin, although we are not absolutely sure about this. Weighs approximately 165g.
