A vintage engraved mother of pearl or nacre shell with stylised engravings of huts, palm trees, and what looks like the head of an elephant.
There are a few minor nibbles around the edge of the shell, as one might expect of material of this type, but otherwise the shell is structurally sound.
The shell measures approximately 5.625in from top to bottom and just under 4.75in across at its widest. Exact area of origin and age unknown but probably Far Eastern or Australasian in origin and believed to be pre-1947. This item is only available for sale within the UK.
