A small vintage cloisonne box with loose fitting lid, possibly once used as a match holder. The inside of the pot and the lid are decorated with turquoise coloured enamel.
The cloisonne is on the whole intact with only the occasional pin hole here and there. However, there is an area towards the side of the pot which appears to have been damaged and repaired and which we have tried to show in the photographs. Otherwise, the pot is structurally sound.
The pot and lid together stand just over 2.25in high and together weigh about 77g. Exact age unknown but probably dates from the first part or middle of last century.
