A fairly large (for its type) Indian nickel silver round box with filigree decoration to lid and sides, and insets to the hinged lid (either agate or polished pebble).
The box is structurally sound although, to us, the hinge seems to be a little on the puny side. Since the lid closes tightly to the base, care should be taken when opening the box. The box has been lightly cleaned but might benefit from further, more expect, cleaning. There is some light discoloration to the base which we have tried to show in the photographs.
The box measures just under 3in in diameter at the base and stands about 1.25in high from the base to the top of the insets on the slightly domed lid. Exact age unknown but probably dates from the first, or middle, part of last century. The box weighs about 75g.
