A vintage inlaid collapsible wooden inlaid occasional table, believed to be Indian in origin. The table is divided into two parts, base and top, and the base is hinged so that it folds.

The table top is inlaid to the centre with bone, surrounded by a wide band of quite crisp but naive carved floral and foliate detail. The base is carved with wide leaves and towards the bottom of the stand, stylised birds (see photographs).

As far as these things go, the table, when erected, is structurally sound. There are a few minor dinks here and there as you might expect, and at least one piece of the inlaid bone is missing (see photographs). The table has been cleaned, but might benefit from further, more expert, cleaning and if necessary waxing. There is some staining, which we think might be water staining and which is a little difficult to show in the photographs.

When erected, the table stands just under 13in high and the table measures approximately 11.625in in diameter to its outer rim. Exact age unknown but believed to date from the middle of last century. Weighs over 1.8kg.
