As Found. A vintage hallmarked silver wood lined box marked as having been Presented by Members of The Ventnor Golf Club 27 April 1927 around the perimeter of the lid (see photographs). The cartouche at the centre of the lid bears three entwined initials, possibly the recipient of the box (and possibly EMP but not sure).
The box is hallmarked Birmingham 1921 and the makers mark is for Hasset and Harper Ltd. The base of the box is lined with fabric, which has now worn quite thin but seems to be intact.
The box has been cleaned but might benefit from further, more expert, cleaning. There is a little tarnishing to the silver (or marks which we have been unable to remove) and there are a few dinks in the silver, mainly to the lid (see photographs). Otherwise the box is structurally sound.
The box measures approximately 4.75in by just over 3.5in at the base and stands about 2.25in to the top of the lid. Weighs just over 350g.
