A large heavy vintage tabletop cast metal novelty nutcracker in the shape of a dog.
When the dog’s tail is lifted, it’s mouth opens to receive a nut. The dog appears to have been bronzed to give it a bronze effect.
The nutcracker has been lightly cleaned only in order to retain the bronzing and there is slight oxidisation in places which we have been unable to remove. Structurally sound, although we don’t know how effective this type of model is at actually cracking nuts!
The figure stands just under 5in high from the bottom of his feet to the top of his head and measures approximately 11.75in long, from his tail to the tip of his snout. Exact age unknown but possibly dates from the first part of last century. Weighs over 1.95kg.
