A vintage brass encased clear glass decanter believed to hold 750ml and possibly for whisky. There is a brass and (we think) rubber stopper attached to the handle.
We have been unable to find out much information about this decanter in our research but it is possibly British in origin, although we can’t be sure. There are some markings to the base, but we have been unable to decipher these.
The brass and what we can access of the glass have been cleaned, but the decanter might benefit from further cleaning. The rings that link the stopper to the decanter and handle are flimsy and the decanter might benefit from these being replaced. Other than this, the decanter is structurally sound.
The decanter stands just under 10in high from the base to the top of the spout. Exact age unknown but probably dates from the first part of last century.
