A vintage, possibly antique, ornate silver plated candlestick centrepiece decorated with scrolls, shells, gadrooning, stylised acanthus leaves etc, and sitting on a shaped six sided base.
The candlestick is structurally sound, although it is believed that the stick can be taken apart, and this causes some of the sections to rotate. We have not taken it apart ourselves as in our experience, these are quite difficult to put back together again. The candlestick sits firm on a flat stable surface. The plating is believed to be silver plate on copper as some of the underlying metal is showing through in some places but this is hardly noticeable. There is some evidence of soldering.
There are no visible makers marks, but the underside of the base is lined with base and there MAY be marks underneath this.
The candlestick stands approximately 10.25in tall and measures approximately 5.75in in diameter at the base. Weighs around 770g. Exact age unknown but probably dates from the first part of last century, or earlier.
