A vintage (probably antique) carved ivory (pre CITES) row of three elephants on plinth.
The plinth measures approximately 3.5in long from one end of the plinth to the trunk of the elephant at the front of the row.
Although originally fixed to the plinth with metal pins (see photographs), some, if not all, of the elephants appear to have been re-fixed with glue at a later date. This is not uncommon. There is a hairline crack in the ivory towards the nether end of the plinth (again not uncommon) but other than this, the piece is structurally sound.
Exact age unknown but believed to date from the first part, probably earlier part, of last century.
