An antique Mappin and Webb Empress Silver (tea)spoon measuring approximately 5.25in long, manufactured to commemorate the marriage in 1905 of the then Prince Gustav Adolf of Sweden to Princess Margaret of Connaught.
This young lady was the daughter of Prince Arthur, Duke of Connaught, who was Queen Victoria's third son. Prince Arthur had married Princess Luise Margarethe of Prussia. Mappin and Webb manufactured the spoon (and presumably Empress Silver) to commemorate the marriage of Prince Gustav Albert and Princess Margaret.
