Please see full description and further photographs below. An unusual vintage pair of copper and brass bookends with George VI threepenny bits inset in one of the bookends, and Elizabeth II threepenny bits inset in the other.
The bookends stand approximately 6.125in tall and about 4.875in across at their widest. We may be wrong but we believe these may have been handmade. Together the bookends weigh just over 1030g.
Both bookends are structurally sound, although the circular copper plaque moves a little and may need firming up. The bookends might benefit from expert cleaning (but of course it depends on your taste).
Exact age unknown but obviously from early 1950s onwards.
