As Found. A vintage parquetry veneered Moroccan musical wooden box or dispenser.

This item was presumably intended for use as a cigarette dispenser, but probably not suitable as such for today's longer cigarettes. No doubt, someone out there will be able to find a suitable use for the box.

The lid, when raised, plays a tune which purports to be Brahms' Waltz, although it is rather slow and whirry (possibly overwound). Underneath the lid there are four slotted compartments (three of which are hinged). The box is structurally sound but the veneer is lifting or has chipped in a number of places (we have tried to show these in the photographs but basically the box is sold on an As Found basis, and the price asked reflects the condition. The box has been cleaned but was very dirty when we acquired it, and it would probably benefit from further, more expert, cleaning.

The box measures approximately 7.125in by 5.125in at the base and stands about 2.875in deep to the top of the hinged lid.
