A small vintage or antique collection of miscellaneous napkin or serviette rings in various sizes, some made of oxbone, some horn etc. All are fairly roughly a similar size in diameter, but please refer to photographs. The depth however, does vary somewhat.
The white metal detail on some of the napkin rings is referred to as such as we have been unable to find silver hallmarks. We believe that the appliques are probably silver.
All the napkin rings are structurally sound, apart from mentioned below.
The large carved napkin ring is about 2in wide. The napkin ring with the white metal L shaped detail (which we believe possibly originally was a D) is about 1.5in. The napkin ring bearing the enamelled fleur de lys in red against a white ground measures about 1.5in. There is some very slight loss to the enamelling which has proved impossible to show in the photographs. The slightly oval napkin ring with the ornate white metal detail – possibly two initials that we have been unable to decipher – stands approximately 1in high. The plain slightly oval napkin ring also stands about 1in high. The horn napkin ring bears what looks like a D or a squat letter P measures about 1in too.
Exact age of the napkin rings is unknown but it is believed that they all date from the earlier part of last century, and some possibly before that.
The napkin rings are for sale with the UK Mainland only.
