An antique electroplated wine or port strainer with the makers mark for James Dixon, together with the trumpet or bugle and banner motif. There is no spout with the strainer.
The strainer has been cleaned but might benefit from further, more expert, cleaning. There is a small degree of tarnishing, and some dinks commensurate with age and use (we have tried to show these in the photographs).
The strainer measures approximately 3.5in in diameter at the outer rim, and stands just over 1.25in high. Exact age unknown but probably dates towards the late part of the nineteenth century. Weighs around 100g.
