A vintage silver engine turned pencil, marked just below the push terminal with the words MADE IN ENGLAND over STERLING SILVER.
We were unable to find a makers mark. The pencil has a push top mechanism (the casing for which we think might be silver plated, rather than silver, but we are not certain).
There is no lead in the pencil as far as we can ascertain, but the push mechanism appears to be in working order. The terminal of the pencil is slightly out of kilter and we have tried to show this in the photographs.
The pencil measures approximately 4.75in in length from the tip to the top of the terminal. Exact age unknown but possibly dates from the first part of last century. Weighs nearly 25g.
