A figurative vintage Scottish lapel or hat badge in the form of an enamelled thistle. The metal is believed to be brass.
We were wondering if the badge had a Suffragette connection given the purple and green enamelling, and the Mother of Pearl at the centre.
The back of the badge has a C clasp and the pin appears to have retained much of its spring. No visible makers or other mark.
The pin measures approximately 1.375in by about 1.25in. Exact age unknown but probably dates from the first part, or middle, or last century.
