A vintage, possibly antique, faux ivory seal box with the base being divided into three compartments. The box measures just over 7in by just under 4in at the base and stands just under 1.375om high to the top of the lid. The lid itself bears a silver coloured metal initial F at the centre. The composition of the box is believed to be some form of celluloid. The lid is affixed to the base by a piano style hinge (viewed from the outside).
There is some age related discoloration and some staining which we have been unable to remove. There are also some marks which look a little bit like crazing, but aren't (see photographs). The inner lining to the back of the box has warped a little through time (see photographs again). This is reflected in the price. Other than this, the box is structurally sound and a remarkable survivor given its age and construction. Exact age unknown but believed to date from the earlier part of last century, or before.
